The Ford Fiesta ST is simply one of the best SUVs you can buy today. In fact, if we take into account its price (just over 21,000 euros) is blatantly the best in its segment.

Of course, the competition is tough, and to maintain its benchmark Ford presents at the Geneva Motor Show a new version of Fiesta ST, the ST200.

As its name suggests, the small 1.6 liter goes from 180 to 200 hp and the engine torque gains 50 Nm settling at 290 Nm. The ST200 retains the overboost function of the ST of 180 hp which allows it for a short period of time (15 seconds) to deliver 215 hp and 320 Nm. The change is still the manual of 6 relationships, but with a shorter final development.

Profits in benefits, although real, are not really appreciable in terms of feelings. The 0 to 100 km / h is carried out in 6.7 s (-0.2 s) and reaches the maximum speed of 230 km / h (+10 km / h).

The Ford Fiesta ST200 is not only a more powerful version of the Fiesta ST, Ford has also modified the set-up of the chassis. The suspensions have short springs (-15 mm with respect to the "ST 180") and a firmer rear torsion bar. The largest brake discs on the rear axle.

Management is the aspect that most modifications have experienced. Equip new steering sleeves along with shorter steering arms. Ford assures that the direction is now even more direct and accurate.

On the other hand, Ford has recalibrated both the ESP in its three modes of action as the Torque Vectoring Control (self-locking emulator that brakes the wheel losing torque).

Aesthetically, the Fiesta ST200 is distinguished from the Fiesta "ST180" for its gray Storm Gray and 17-inch wheels anthracite. On board, the mixed leather / fabric upholstery is also exclusive to this series.

This new version of the Fiesta ST should go on sale this summer. It is also the end-of-the-party model, as Ford is finalizing the new generation of its utility, whose presentation is scheduled for 2017.
