The arrival of electric cars to car brands is unstoppable. Audi does not yet have a 100% electric vehicle in its range of models, but it has already confirmed the production of two models for the next few years.

We talk about the Audi e-tron and Audi e-tron Sportback. The production of the latter has also been confirmed for the year 2019 at the plant in Brussels (Belgium) where the production of both electric models will be centralized.

Audi demonstrates that it is already committed to electric mobility, and in the words of Hubert Waltl, Head of Production and Logistics AUDI AG "With the decision to produce the Audi e-tron Sportback, we show that Audi takes very seriously the electric mobility . A second electric model will lead to our plant in Brussels to an optimal utilization of its capacity ".
The new model will be based on the prototype presented at the Shanghai Motor Show, which had 500 km of electric range and up to 503 hp of power. We will have to see how it evolves into a model of production and volume, because it is more than likely that these figures can not be maintained.

What is positive is knowing that the basis of this vehicle will be from the origin for an electric, and it will not be a model of combustion adapted to electrical use, a solution that does not usually work at all well.

They follow the path that their most direct rivals began some years ago in the case of BMW with the range i, or of the announcement of Mercedes-Benz to create a completely electric range under the denomination EQ.
