As you are checking, the NAIAS (Detroit Motor Show) is leaving us some new accounts. One of them is the presentation of the Nissan Pathfinder Concept, a model that according to the brand, will be very similar to the production Pathfinder.

From the photographs we can see, we find that the aesthetics has been completely renovated. The Nissan Pathfinder Concept looks less rude, with more fluid lines and make it look more like an SUV than a SUV. Nissan has also announced by now that the structure of the production model will be monocoque type.

If we look now inside, we will see some similarities (7 seats distributed in 3 rows of seats), but the truth is that there are many different elements, which like the exterior, now seem somewhat more civilized.

At first glance the quality leap that is appreciated seems evident, both in materials and in design. Until we try it we can not take anything for granted, but of course the first impression is good.

Regarding the engines for the moment we only know that in the United States will be sold with a new V6 gasoline engine attached to a continuous variator gearbox. Nissan claims that consumption compared to the current model will be considerably lower, in particular 25% lower.

For now these are all the details we have. The model will arrive in the United States approximately during the third quarter of 2012, so it is likely that by 2013 we will have a European version available from the dealers.
