We knew this for a long time, but Polestar already works as an independent brand in the style of official designers of other brands such as AMG, quattro or BMW M, but focusing on alternative propulsion vehicles.

Without giving up its spicy Swedish essence, Polestar has already put a hand to one of the latest creations of Volvo and its result is a powerful hybrid SUV, the XC60 T8, which now take out 421 hp maximum power. So, it becomes the most powerful Volvo in history.

Tie between SUV potors
And it is that, yes, the Volvo XC60 T8 carries the same motorization retouched by the specialist that the XC90 T8. Underneath the body combine a supercharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter petrol engine with a 334 hp plus an 87-hp electric motor, yielding a combined total of 421 horses on the asphalt.

It is not a big change, but at Polestar they have extracted an extra 14 horses to the combustion engine and 40 Nm of torque (680 Nm in total), leaving the electric unchanged and offering an approved consumption mixed of 2.1 liters to The 100 km, while the autonomy in electric mode is 45 km (2 km more than the XC90, probably because of the difference in weight).
Moreover, neither have announced price nor have been further detailed modifications in the SUV as they have in other models, improving only the response to the demands of the accelerator and a specific adjustment of the transmission. What they have announced is that they will also put hand to the rest of motorizations of the range XC60.
