Audi Elaine Concept Frankfurt Motor Show

Audi's commitment to autonomous driving is clear to be high, and this is demonstrated by the German brand at the Frankfurt Motor Show, where it presents, among other things, an evolution of the Audi e-tron Sportback concept that we saw in May in Shanghai . It is called Audi Elaine concept and proposes autonomous driving level four and electric propulsion.
The future trend in the world of the automobile is aimed at SUVs and freelancers, and this is precisely what mixes the brand of the four rims for Frankfurt. Artificial intelligence for autonomous driving, electric range up to 500 kilometers and a raised body height, are some of the most significant features of the Elaine.
This prototype is an advance of the second 100% electric model of Audi, with aesthetic SUV with coupé lines. In this case it measures 4.9 meters long, 1.98 meters wide and 1.53 meters high, with huge 23-inch wheels, and highlight elements such as headlights and pilots Matrix LED, as well as digital projectors capable of launching messages projecting them on the asphalt.
Audi claims that its electric future will have a configuration like that of this concept, ie an electric motor in the front axle and two in the rear, and therefore total drive. The set can move between 320 and 370 kW, that is, from 435 to 503 hp, so a 0 to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds is not a problem. Its 95 kWh battery also allows autonomy over 500 km (NEDC) and fast charging with 150 kW cable or charging without cables (Audi Wireless Charging).
The Audi AI system, Audi AI, will allow the car to be able to make automated routes (on motorways, for example), or even without passengers, to move to a "future" multipurpose car park that could offer services such as a tunnel washing or recharging points of batteries, so that these processes can carry them out the car by itself.
The autopilot function for motorway, which is no more than an evolution of what the Audi A8 already offers, is capable of changing lane, and therefore advancing, autonomously, although the "driver" can always take control of the car , anytime. To this must be added all the security assistants and an infotainment system with Internet connection to make the most of the time while the car is driving for you.
In addition, the PIA or intelligent personal assistant, allows the vehicle to adapt to the behavior pattern of each user (identifies the user and uploads his profile) in applications such as navigation, music selection, air conditioning, etc ... Of course , the car will also be connected to the infrastructures (Car-to-X) to have information of the environment in real time.
Like other manufacturers, Audi also pays attention to the well-being of the driver, with the Audi Fit Driver, which, by means of a driver's bracelet, is able to know his mood or health, and to reduce his stress, for example, breathing, massage functions of the seats, interior lighting, etc ...
Finally, the interior is made up of large touch screens located on the dashboard and also on the door panels, which serve to interact with the various systems of the vehicle and reduce the number of controls and buttons.
