Just a few hours ago the Faraday Future FF91 finally revealed itself! A car that takes months of hype and controversy has finally become a little more real. His cover letters are striking with a futuristic and very aerodynamic image that resembles in a way the brutal FFZERO1 with which the start up was released a year ago.
The star appearance of the Las Vegas Consumer Electronic Show (CES) has once again been over, because just as a year ago Faraday Future has staged a car with promising numbers, with a new luxury SUV concept half way between a Model S and a Model X, but will they be enough to beat Tesla?
If we stick to brute force, the Faraday Future FF91 will win by thrashing against the Tesla Model S P100D or another near-term model of the brand thanks to the more than 1,065 hp maximum power. With this tremendous power ensure in the brand that is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.39 seconds. And we're talking about a great four-seater SUV! We do not know the weight but it will be difficult to stay below 2,000 kg.
Despite using a huge battery pack with a capacity of 130 kWh, leaving behind the newly released 100 kWh of Tesla, the autonomy does not rest on the side of the FF91. This greater capacity will be used both to reach the tesla level in autonomy figures with a good theoretical 608 km (613 km for Tesla) and on the other hand feed the engines much more powerful.
As for the price we can not establish a comparison because, simply, they have not announced a definitive sale price. The only indicator we have is a reserve of $ 5,000 for the first units, but we will have to wait until a second presentation in March to know, perhaps, how much they ask for the first 300 FF91 "Alliance Edition" that will arrive in early 2018.
What is certain is that it will not be cheap because by positioning Faraday Future wants to place in a segment even more premium and even more technological than Tesla, with its autonomous, intelligent and connected driving systems that promise to make the new electric one Exciting limousine.
Promise, promise, something in which Le Eco (the financial partner of Faraday Future) are specialists. We will see if from here at the beginning of 2018 the FF91 is able to overcome all the obstacles that have by the way become a model of real production.
