We all know the Ford F-Series range, which has been leading the US vehicle sales chart for years. They are hard and rough trucks, and there are some that especially take the palm in terms of robustness and imposing appearance. These are the Super Duty variants (F-250, F-350 and F-450), designed to work, which are now lighter than ever thanks to an aluminum dress.
According to Ford, this Super Duty range is the toughest, smartest and capable they have ever manufactured. "Ford Super Duty is the truck you trust and rely on the hardest working men and women," says Joe Hinrich, Ford's president in America. And it is that the renewed range has a new structure, 24 times more rigid than before, made of high strength steels, next to an aluminum body. The result is a reduction of up to 159 kilos.
These new Super Duty have more capacity of load and also of trailer, and incorporate mechanical components of great resistance in axes and power train. For its part, the supply of engines remains the same as before: a 6.7-liter V8 Power Stroke diesel, a 6.8-liter V10 petrol and a 6.2-liter V8, also petrol. Of course, the various versions are available in single, double cabin and Crew Cab.
In addition to being tougher than ever, these trucks incorporate more technology, such as LED lighting, adaptive cruise control, up to seven cameras to monitor the vehicle's surroundings when maneuvering (especially when loaded with a trailer), tire pressure control, adaptive steering, blind spot assistant, warning of inadvertent lane change or anti-collision alert with brake intervention.
