Lexus LS 500h The Fiancee Hybrid for the Lexus Grand Saloon

As promised by the Japanese manufacturer after presenting its new Lexus LS at the Detroit Motor Show, here is the hybrid variant of this great luxury sedan, the Lexus LS 500h, recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The main novelty of this hybrid is that it benefits from the same system as the Lexus LC we tested recently on Ascari, the so-called Lexus Multi Stage Hybrid System.
This system combines a 3.5 liter V6 Dual VVT-i petrol engine with two electric motors and a lithium ion battery 20% smaller - and lighter - than the previous Lexus system, although more powerful. The total power is 359 hp and 348 Nm, as in the LC 500h, and also uses the same 10-speed transmission. It promises a 0-100 km / h of about 5.5 seconds.
As we know, this transmission, based on a continuous drive, actually consists of four physical marches, the first three converted into three 'fictitious' each, using electronics, and a last u overdrive. In practice, it's ten speeds and works much better than the usual change that used Lexus so far, with more rhythms and speed.
The Lexus LS 500h is based on the brand's new global architecture, the GA-L platform and incorporates front and rear multi-link suspension, as well as all home assistance and safety systems, including a new ' intuitive 'with assistance of direction.
The cabin, centered on comfort and luxury materials (organic wood, for example), is made using Japanese techniques, such as the so-called 'Kiriko' for the work of glass in the lining of doors - where there are also shapes inspired by and has front seats with multiple adjustments, heated and ventilated, and with massage function. On the other hand, the rear seats optionally offer an extendable footrest.
