On September 20 Porsche achieved a new record in the Nürburgring Nordschleife with its latest street beast, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The German brand has just made it official, and the timing of this 700 hp sports car is even better than the 918 Spyder (6:57) mark. We talk about a time of 6 minutes and 47.3 seconds. Not bad, right?

This figure confirms that the 911 GT2 RS is not only the most powerful nine in the history of the model, but also the fastest and most efficient. According to Porsche, the record even exceeded the expectations of the company itself. The objective was to lower the barrier of the 7 minutes and 5 seconds, and have achieved more (17.7 seconds less, in fact).

The best of all, according to Porsche, is that the record was not achieved with a "lucky lap", as the drivers Lars Kern (Germany) and Nick Tandy (UK) managed to score a 6:52 on their first attempt and then scored five consecutive laps below 6 minutes and 50 seconds. It was the German Kern who finally set the record lap, even though Tandy came directly from Austin's 6 Hours and traded a 919 Hybrid for the GT2 RS.

This impressive turn of the Porsche, whose average speed was 184.11 km / h, of course exceeds the time of the Porsche 911 GT3 marked in May (7: 12.57), but also the one that until now was the fastest model of street, Radical SR8LM (6:48) and the powerful Lamborghini Hurricane Performante (6:52). The one that is not enough is the NIO EP9 (6:45), but it's not exactly a production car.

And is that this beast of rear traction with motor 3.8 liters biturbo booster develops a power of 700 hp and a maximum torque of 750 Nm, and dispatches the 0 to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds thanks to a measured weight of 1,470 kilograms . It is also capable of reaching 340 km / h.

Your secret? Advanced aerodynamics (you only have to see your big aileron), directional rear axle and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in dimensions 265/35 ZR 20 front and 325/30 ZR 21 rear. That yes, prepare 326.934 euros if you want to get one.
