Just two weeks ago the American pilot Ken Block launched his latest production, called Climbkhana and starring his Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V8 of more than 1,400 hp, in the mythical climb to Pikes Peak, but the pilot does not waste time, and already has new toy.
Block has already had an opportunity to try out this Ford Escort RS Cosworth rally with WRC specifications, which at the moment sports a rather discreet decoration. Will we see it painted in the colors of Monster Energy and the Hoonigan Racing Division?
"Ken from the Block", as James May himself called it in an episode of Top Gear, has confirmed that we will soon see a video with this Cosworth Escort RS as the protagonist, so we can expect large doses of smoke and skidding. It should be noted that this is not the first Escort in his garage, since a couple of years ago he showed us his Escort RS Mk2.
Under the hood of this Cosworth Escort RS we find a motor block that is no longer made of steel, but a light alloy, in order to be modified in order to squeeze as much power as possible. It is a 2-liter turbocharged 400 hp and 549 Nm, which comes from a 1997 WRC car and is combined with a sequential seven-speed transmission.
A race suspension meant to vary the configuration between asphalt and ground, 18-inch wheels with Toyo tires, WRC brakes, side exhaust outlets or a completely lightened interior with anti-roll bars are some of the elements that round this creation.
