Which is probably one of the wildest cars in production today, will stop manufacturing very soon. Mercedes-Benz has announced that its Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4², the most capable G-Class in off-road driving, will be available only until the end of October.
On sale since the end of 2015, and with a price currently around 230,000 euros in Germany, the G 500 4x4² we had the opportunity to test exclusively a couple of years ago will say goodbye, and it is logical considering that the new Class G generation is just around the corner.
Following the success of the model of exhibition that showed the German brand in the first instance, Mercedes-Benz went on to manufacture this special SUV, which unlike the G 63 AMG 6x6, could be driven without the need for truck license
Developed with the sole purpose of being extremely capable off-road, the G 500 4x4² three-ton weight utilizes gantry axles, adaptive suspension, gearbox, three differential locks and a 4.0 liter V8 biturbo 422 hp. In addition, it has a free height to the ground of 45 centimeters and is able to ford a meter of water, among other aptitudes.
Compared to a normal G-Class, the G 500 4x4² tracks are almost 30 centimeters wider, but it also offers two sets of tires for road or off-road use. The first, 22 inches, equip road tires in dimensions 325/55 R22, while the off-road kit incorporates 18-inch wheels with MT tires.
