After Dodge announced the hellish Challenger SRT Demon whose sole purpose is to smash records in acceleration races and become one of the fastest cars with license plates in the world, the coach Hennessey announced a Chevrolet Camaro nicknamed The Exorcist to combat the sports car ram.

But in Hennessey Performance they are very good at not stopping and they set themselves a trap shortly thereafter, announcing that they would take the Challenger SRT Demon and take it to an enormous 1,500 HP of power. Well, at the moment they have not reached that figure, but they have already put two kits on the table: HPE1000 that extracts from the American pony car 1,050 HP and the HPE1200 that promises power from 1,000 to 1,500 CV but is not yet available.

HPE1000: the Demon that precedes a devil of 1,500 HP

The modifications introduced in the engine follow the typical recipe of Hennessey, with a good portion of improvements that seem to draw a lot of power in a relatively simple way. New stainless steel exhaust line, high performance pulleys, refined electronics with power bank tuning, gaskets and new fluids are the biggest changes made.

With these modifications in addition to overcome the magical barrier of 1,000 hp (851 hp maximum in the Demon series with high octane gasoline and optional switchboard) is also achieved a dose of brutal torque: 1,285 Nm at 4,200 revolutions. It is not surprising that with these figures the Demon of Hennessey manages to reach 96 km / h in 1.93 seconds and destroy the quarter mile in 9.38 seconds, improving the times of the series Demon (9.65 seconds and 2 , 3 for the 0-96 km / h).

Knowing the Americans' fondness for this type of preparations, it is to be expected that the 3,300 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon HPE1000 that will be manufactured (300 of them for Canada and the rest for the United States) will volatilize quickly, regardless of their final price (unknown from moment), but that surely will be close to 100,000 euros. A relatively affordable price for a 1000 hp machine that starts from a Demon with a price lower than 80,000 euros.
